An English baronage [manuscript], 1597.

Note on flyleaf: Simon Forte hunc librum armorum et insigniarum nobilium Anglie composuit, 1597. It is Forte's copy and continuation of Cooke's work of 1572, with the title changed. Forte has drawn very few of the arms, but this has been remedied by a much later owner who has colored a few of the sketches, and added a supplement of 38 p. of colored arms.

Robert Cooke was Clarenceux King of Arms. From the description of Pedigrees of the nobility [manuscript], ca. 1575? (Folger Shakespeare Library).
